Fashion Magazines

I buy lots of magazines every month, ranging from fashion, woman, baby, digital world, hobby and etc. I prefer to read magazines over books these days because I don’t have much time for reading now. Since magazines are full of pictures and short articles, I can easily flip through them in minutes.

One of my favourite magazines these days is Queen, a magazine from Taiwan. It covers everything you need to know about fashion, makeup, skincare, yoga, spa, and others. There are only 4 issues in a year, but it’s good enough for me asĀ  most of the products being introduced in Taiwan haven’t reach here yet. So, you will still be up to date.

Besides that, Harper Bazaar is great too. I love this local magazine which features lots of branded stuffs. No, I’m not chasing for the brands, but I will see what is in, and I will try to get the similar products that have the looks but not the price. See, I’m a smart shopper huh? :P

Guys, Change Your Steering Wheels!

My FIL maybe one of those men who likes nice car accessories. He may be 70 years old, but he has one of those fancy steering wheels in his Mercedes. LOL! Whenever I see him behind the wheel, I couldn’t help grinning as he really looked younger.

Most guys like to custom made some parts of their cars. If you like to modify yours, you can get a lot of car accessories from YoCar. They have parts of most of the car models like BMW, Audi, Cadillac, Ford, Mercedes, Volvo and others. No matter what you are looking for, you can be sure of getting them from the site.

Too bad my hubby doesn’t care much about his car. To him, as long as the car is moving, it is good enough.

Virtual Dolls

I may be a mother of 2, but I love dolls. However, I stopped playing dolls for years and I’m looking forward to play them with my girl years later.

However, recently I got hooked with playing virtual dolls. I just like dress them up with nice clothes, makeup, shoes and bags, it’s just like I’m getting myself ready to go out!

If you haven’t tried them out, you better check out the virtual dolls at from Cartoon Doll Emporium. Even if it may be the largest virtual dolls site for young girls, but anyone can sign up with play with the dolls too.

Feeding and taking care of stuffed animals online on webkinz is out. The latest trend is to get your hands on virtual dolls! Check out the mass of choices of dolls available from Cartoon Doll Emporium. I found my favourite one……Adriana!

Gee….I’m going to busy playing with them tonight. :P

Fashion Workshop

I came across the details of fashion workshops organized by Cleo and some major sponsors almost every year when I subscribed the magazines. I have always wanted to attend one, but due to unforeseen circumstances, I didn’t attend any.

I really regretted that I didn’t attend the workshops as there were lots of free goodies like makeup, skincare products and hair products were given out. On top of that, the workshop covered everything a woman needs to know about how to look good without spending a fortune or being a fashion victim. Everyone seemed to enjoy and benefit from the workshop from the articles that followed in the magazines.

Even if there were lots of participants, if they organizers sourced the best projector rentals to rent out projectors during the workshop, I think everyone would still have a clearer view on the flow of the workshop. Gee, maybe I should check out the date again this year, and see if I can make it.

Brazilian Wax

I haven’t done Brazilian wax because I have a really low pain threshold. But since Samm very hiao, efnd, and very eager to try out (kick me LOL!), I found a salon that has Brazilian wax service. It’s at Bella Skin Care, for RM199 per session. So expensive huh?

But to look good in swimsuit and bikini, you really need to consider this….

So, what is a Brazilian wax?

Brazilian bikini waxes have been ‘all the rage’ since the late 90’s, but they’re certainly not new the US. Brazilian waxing was introduced to New York in 1987 by seven Brazilian-born sisters.

So how does it differ from a regular bikini wax? Basically, with the Brazilian, hair is removed in the front, back & everything in between. Most of the time a ‘landing strip’ is left in the front, but some clients opt for everything removed.

Difficulty: Average

Time Required: 15-30 minutes

Here’s How:

  1. Most waxings occur in a private room with a door. I have heard of some with just a curtain between you and others. You remove your pants & underwear & lie on a table with clean paper or sheets. It is possible that you could be provided with a paper thong, but chances are… you won’t.
  2. Because you only need about a quarter-inch of hair for the wax to grab onto, your waxer will start by trimming your pubic hair to the right length.
  3. The best waxers are fast, which means less discomfort for you. The waxer will dip a waxing stick into a pot of hot wax & then spread it onto your skin & hair. She will then apply a cloth strip over the still-warm wax, pressing firmly so the cloth, hair and wax adhere to one another. When the wax has cooled, she will pull the strip off, in the opposite direction of your hair growth, pulling the hairs out by the root.
  4. Most likely, your waxer will tweeze any stray hairs.
  5. Waxing usually starts in the front & moves toward the back. You’ll likely have to move around in all sorts of odd positions in order for the waxer to do her job.
  6. Once the waxing is over, the waxer will spread soothing lotion over the waxed areas. You should ask what to do in case of bumps, redness or ingrown hairs. Your waxer should be trained in this.
  7. Don’t forget to get the name of the waxer so when you make another appointment you can get the same person so you don’t have to bare all for another complete stranger (wink).

Tips:

  1. The procedure, like any waxing, can be very painful at first, but frequent visits usually cuts down on the pain factor. I suggest taking a couple Advil at least 15 minutes before your procedure. As for the embarrassment factor — we like to think getting a Brazilian can’t be any more embarrassing than a typical visit to your gynecologist’s office. These aestheticians have seen it all before.
  2. The downside of a Brazilian wax… while it lasts as much as 3 weeks, the hair will grow back & you’ll have to do it again.
  3. Another downside… hair has to be a certain length before it can sucessfully waxed.
  4. Another down side… you might experience red bumps or ingrown hairs.

Oh ya, lots of women who have done this said that it makes them feel sexy, clean, and worth the pain. So, how? Still want to have one? Ok, anyone who’s interested, just go for it, but I would like to take some snaps and blog about this. :P
