Ultimate Firming Hand Cream and Microdermabrasion System by Nails Inc, London

It’s been awhile some my last manicure and pedicure session. I signed up a membership package so it’s a waste if I don’t use up my package. I used to visit my manicurist at least once a month last time, but since I moved here, it’s getting lesser and lesser. Maybe I have to do house chores here, so I feel that it’s a waste to have nice painted nails. But then, I should pamper myself once in a while because I deserve it! LOL!

I have a lot of nail colors at home, but I’m not a DIY person. I hardly do my own manicure or pedicure, even if I have some of the tools. The most I will do is just color my nails when I feel like it. No point leaving the nail varnish idling on my dressing table right? Besides that, my toes will look nicely with colors when I put on my heels.

I found that nailsinc has a lot of nice products for hands and feet. There is a great selection of nail varnish, but what I’m really interested to try is the Ultimate Firming Hand Cream and Microdermabrasion System. I’m pretty lazy to do my own manicure, but I always put on hand cream whenever I remember to. I guess the microdermabrasion cream will help a lot in exfoliating my hand and wash away the dead skin cell so that the hand cream can penetrate better into my skin. For someone who does a lot of house chores, my hands can be pretty rough if I don’t take good care of them.

This set is selling at £25. Before I do my purchase, has anyone tried the products before?

Leb Story

I’ve finally started going for manicure and pedicure in Bangkok. I found this little manicure shop called Leb Story, and its environment setting makes me feel like going back to it again and again.

I went for foot and hand spa just now, and it’s great to see how my skin glow after the spa. I haven’t pampered myself for some time, and the dry winter in Bangkok doesn’t do my skin any good too. After the spa, my legs look better.

The Pedicure Scrub and Mask by OPI. After the mask, I was given foot and hand massage with OPI Manicure Finish Lotion.

The massage was great, but I hope that it could last longer. LOL! But one thing different here as comparing to my ex-manicurist’s salon is they don’t prepare samples for artwork. You will have to go through the magazines and pick any of your choice, and they will let you know about the price later.

I picked something like French manicure for my fingers, and stick to lilac for my toes.

I would say that even if the service is great, but my ex-manicurist can draw better artwork. See for yourself. She’s really good.

Pedicure

I would normally go for manicure and pedicure once a month and I’ve been so for many years. I can’t remember how I got hooked with this pampering habit, but I still love it to the bits. The best thing is the artwork. I wrote a post about how talented my pedicurist is, just check out some of her work!

I didn’t go for anything complicated since I didn’t have time to sit there for long hours. Nonetheless, she did a great job drawing butterflies on all my toes. Yes, all of them. :)

In short, I love my nail pattern! Most of my friends and even strangers asked me where I got my nails done. LOL! Too bad she’s so far away from Bangkok and I will have to find another manicurist or pedicurist which is as talented as her. Gee…I can really trade in hubby’s gold cufflinks to bring her here. LOL! Just kidding la…

Pretty Nail Patterns

What I really like about my medicurist is she’s not only friendly, she’s very creative as well. I admire her creativity in designing a lot of pretty nail patterns, but too bad I don’t have time and money to try out all of them! Just take a look at some of her work:

Did you see one with Burberry pattern?

I like those in blue!

If you like crystals, these are the few designs available

The lighter colors look great for a bride

So, are you curious about where her nail spa is? It’s somewhere in a commercial real estate in Bercham Ipoh. LOL! Cannot put up her address lah….

I Have Nice Nails Now!

I went to pedicure and manicure today. It’s a routine which I will do at least once a month. I have got used to the pampering and I don’t like to file my own nails. I don’t even put any cuticle oil these days as I have been very lazy. LOL!

What I’m craving the most is the foot and hand massage which comes together with the pedicure and manicure sessions. It’s nice to have my feet and hands pampered and it’s enjoyable.

So, are you going for manicure and pedicure frequently as well? Don’t you just love them?

Nail Recovery

I love to have nail art on my toes but frequent exposure to nail colors may not be good for our nails. My toe nails will become yellowish and dry if I’m not taking good care of them.

Thus, after about 2 weeks of having them painted, I decided to remove the nail polisher and start some nail care session on the nails.

Firstly, I will have to remove the nail polisher. Just soak a few cotton pads with any nail remover of your choice and place them onto the nails for a few second to soften the nail color. It’s easier to remove the colors like this and you don’t have to rub hard onto the nails.

After that, I washed my feet with lots of water to make sure that there was not a single trace of nail removal on the nails, before drying them thoroughly.  Then I applied the nail recovery by OPI on all the toe nails, and massage the lotion until it’s fully absorbed.

I should have put another layer of cuticle oil on my toes but I forgot. Then I proceeded to the foot cream by OPI as well, and after some foot massage, I “seal” my feet with Skin MD Natural. What? So complicated? So free ah? LOL! What to do? It’s all for the sake of beauty.

Foot Spa

Ladies, do you like to wear high heels? If you do, you really need to go for foot spa occasionally. A normal pedicure will not include these routines and take care of your calves as well. I went for my foot spa last week because I was so sien with paid posts. :P I just wanted to get a break and pamper myself.

So here goes:

After the normal puffing and filing, my feet were socked in OPI foot bath with grapefruit and tea tree.

    CIMG7450
Then, the pedicurist applied a layer of softener onto my feet and leave it on for a while.

    CIMG7454
After that, she used the foot scrub to remove all the dead skin cells from my feet and calves.

    CIMG7455
    Scrub scrub scrub!

    CIMG7463
Then she apply the foot mask on my calves and feet generously before…

    CIMG7466
    …wrapping them up and…

    CIMG7467
    covering my feet with towels.

    15 minutes later….

    CIMG7469
I was being pampered with foot and calf massage.

    CIMG7476
See the results? My right leg was fairer after the massage, that’s why we need to do this more often!

Of course, I need to have some nail art, I have got used to it. I don’t like my toes to be naked. :P

3D Acrylic Nail Art

I wanted to try the 3D acrylic nail art when I was having my medicure and pedicure session last week, but my pedicurist said it’s not suitable for me since I practice yoga and I handle my kids a lot. I need to have nail extension since my nails are not long enough, so I will have to learn how to type with nail extension as well. LOL!

After some consideration, I dropped the idea. I should have done this for my wedding. I love nail art, especially those that I found from Japanese magazines. If I’m one of those sui lai lai (a rich man’s wife) who doesn’t have to type a single word, or turn on the faucet of the vessel sinks, or take care of her kids, than I will go ahead and try it. But how about yoga? I will definitely break my nail extension and that is very painful! Just imagine your nails being pulled out or broken abruptly, how will you feel?

So, I admire Jolin who can dance so well with nail extension and 3D acrylic nail art. Her nails are always pretty.

I Screwed Up My Nail Art!

I went to get my nails painted with some nail art a few days ago. I love the design since it’s really sweet and and simple. But I have been wearing my silver pumps lately and guess what, the nail art is smearing! I thought it will not happen since it is dried, but maybe due to the friction between my toes and the shoes, the nail polisher is coming off.

I put on my slippers every time I go for pedicure and be very care not to smear the artwork. I have got used to painting my toes and I will feel weird if they are bare. But since some of the toe nails are smeared, I will have to remove the nail art soon. I can’t just go out with some ugly toes, can I?

So, if you are wearing pumps like me, just make sure that you don’t have nail arts on your toe nails too. But if you have a tip to share with me on how to prevent the smearing from happening, let me know. But one thing for sure, if I always on a pair of Reef Sandals, I don’t have to worry about getting my toe nails smeared! So, I will get one once I get bored with my old slipper. I thought of getting a pair of Reef before I went to Bali, but I guess I must have forgotten about it when the date was approaching.

But never mind, I can always get a pair for my pedicure session next time.

Caring for My Nails

I haven’t been for medicure and pedicure for more than a month. I think I will get myself an appointment the latest by next week, before I am flying off to Bali. But in the mean time, I have to take good care of my nails by myself. I don’t have strong nails so I need to use the strengthener from OPI. It comes with a set, together with the essential oil for nails when I got them during a promotion.

Frankly, I don’t put the nail polisher by myself most of the time because I can’t type when I am waiting for the nails to be dry. Once, I spoiled my nails at 2am when I was cleaning up my kid’s jigsaw puzzle and that really pissed me off. So, I only apply top coat by myself, and do the color at the nail salon. I don’t know why, it’s less lightly to be scratched when she applys the color for me.

So, I better give her a call tomorrow. At the same time, I’ll be checking out the new summer collection too!
